Mason, a German Shepard, joined the force earlier this year. He and his handler, Officer Zachary Cosenza, began a 14-week Connecticut State Police training program in March.

Only a few months later, he helped catch two men suspected of attempting to steal from an auto shop — one of whom was unresponsive, needed medical attention and likely would have died if Mason and Cosenza didn't find him, Fox 61 reported.
