SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A fire early Thursday morning at a Route 5 recreational vehicle dealership caused considerable damage to more than a half-dozen RVs, according to fire officials.

Just before 4:30 a.m., the fire was reported at Pete's RV Center at 417 John Fitch Boulevard. A police officer arrived at the scene and confirmed an RV was fully engulfed in flames, fire officials said.

The fire spread to other RVs nearby, damaging seven to eight vehicles in total. The blaze was contained by fire personnel before it could extend to a large building and other campers on site, fire officials said.
