Police: Local Woman Fatally Shot in Manchester

Update at 6:50 p.m.:

Police have identified the 23-year-old woman who was fatally shot early Saturday morning as Annatassia Keise. According to published reports, Keise's hometown was apparently South Windsor.

A search of the residence of Steve Simpson, the suspect in Saturday morning's at the Vintage at the Grove Apartments complex, revealed a "large amount of marijuana and cash" inside Simpson's apartment. 

Police said they have requested an additional warrant to charge Simpson, 23, with drug related offenses as well. Simpson is a resident of the Vintage at the Grove Apartments, located at 700 Falls View Dr. He is currently facing murder charges for Saturday morning's incident. 

According to police, they received numerous calls of a disturbance at approximately 3:44 a.m. Saturday morning from residents in the area, and arrived to find an unidentified female suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police have not released the name of the victim at this time, but said the act was not random and that Simpson knew the woman.
