South Windsor Field Hockey Rebounds in Victory Over Southington

Bobcats back in the running for state playoff berth.

After a series of frustrating losses, the South Windsor High field hockey team’s offense broke out in style, defeating Southington 4-0 on Tuesday.

Rebecca Schroder, Jackie Kenny, Lauren Adamo and Allie Hill all scored for the Bobcats, while Bridget Kelly had three assists and Kat Adamo had one.

It was a much-needed performance for South Windsor, which had scored just two goals in the seven previous matches. The Bobcats defense, however, has been outstanding, allowing just five goals in those same seven games.

All four of South Windsor’s losses - including a heartbreaking overtime loss to Hall - have been by a score of 1-0.

With Tuesday’s victory, South Windsor remains in the hunt for a state playoff berth with a 2-3-2-1 record.

The Bobcats are scheduled to face Wethersfield at home 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
