South Windsor High's Odell, Mitchell Named Honorable Mention All-Americans

Duo recognized by Wrestling USA magazine.

South Windsor High wrestlers Casey Mitchell and Sam Odell continue to have a mirror-image year.

Indeed, Mitchell and Odell were recently named 2013 High School Honorable Mention All-Americans by Wrestling USA magazine, according to a press release.

That they both earned the same distinction was appropriate, considering that they had nearly identical seasons.Mitchell, who wrestled at 145, was 49-1 in state competitions, winning the state Class LL and State Open titles.

Odell, who went 47-1 wrestling at 152, also won the state Class LL and State Open championships. The tandem also placed second in their respective weight classes at the New England Championships in Rhode Island.

According to a press release, Mitchell will attend Sacred Heart University, where he plans to wrestle.Odell also plans to wrestle at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

He first will attend the Naval Academy prep school in Newport, RI, according to the release.
