South Windsor Man Charged in Child Pornography, Predator Cases
Police said Jared Weber attempted to meet up with what he believed was a Meriden teenager and was later found in possession of more than 100 pictures and videos containing children in provocative poses and sexual acts following his arrest.

Editor's Note: Weber lived at 176 Bristol St. in Southington at the time of the incidents and was taken into custody on a warrant shortly after the search. He remains in custody and family said he will not be returning to the address in South Windsor where he had been staying.
A sexual predator sting in Meriden has landed a South Windsor man in serious legal trouble after police said he was found in possession of more than 100 separate photos and videos of children in provocative poses and sexual acts.
Officers took Jared Weber, of South Windsor, into custody late last week during an related court hearing from a case stemming from a May 1 arrest in the city. He was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on one charge of first-degree possession of child pornography.
According to Meriden Police Lt. Sal Nesci, the department was conducting an investigation that involved potential child predators earlier this year and Weber reached out online to someone he believed was a Meriden teenager, enticing the minor to meet up.
When he came to meet with the minor, however, he was met by detectives and taken into custody. Meriden police did not release how they learned of the effort or where the meet up took place.
“We need to keep details like that for future investigations. We don’t want to compromise the investigation or future efforts,” Nesci said.
According to court records, Weber is facing charges including attempt to commit risk of injury to a minor, attempt to entice a minor by computer, attempt to commit second-degree sexual assault and attempt to commit patronizing a prostitute. He was also issued a city ordinance citation at that time.
After talking with Weber and learning more about the case, police were able to obtain a warrant for his computers, according to Nesci. The investigation led to the discovery of more than 100 pictures and videos involving minors in sexual acts.
Further details of the case were not available Tuesday.
Weber is due back in Meriden Superior Court on July 26. He is currently being held in lieu of $90,000 in court set bonds, according to court records.
