South Windsor Police Log for April 1 - 3

The following information was provided by the South Windsor police department, it does not indicate convictions.

Tyre Mearise, 21, of Bloomfield, was charged on April 3 with carrying a pistol without a permit, alteration of firearms identification mark, weapons in vehicles, interfering with an officer, operating a motor vehicle when license is suspended and failure to display plate.

He was held on a $20,000 surety bond and was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court on April 3.

Rakiem Caldwell, 23, of Bloomfield, was charged on April 3 with carrying a pistol without a permit, alteration of firearms identification mark, weapons in vehicles, interfering with an officer, and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.

Caldwell was held on $20,000.00 surety bond and was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday, April 3.

Jason Rivera, 29, of 493 Griffin Road, was charged on April 2 with desecration of property and criminal mischief in the second degree. Rivera was held on $100,000 court set bond and was scheduled to be presented at Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday, April 3.

Rivera’s charges stem from his actions on Thursday, March 28, 2013 when he allegedly spray painted messages on the walls of South Windsor High school. Officers interviewed Rivera on Monday and obtained an admission from him, according to Sgt. Scott Custer.

Singh Dharamjit, 36, of Windsor Locks, was charged on April 2 with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Dharamjit was later released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on April 15.
