The South Windsor Board of Education held a truncated meeting Tuesday evening, during which it set the date for the high school’s graduation for Monday, June 24.
The school board unanimously passed the measure without any discussion.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kate Carter said prior to the vote that the school board was required to set the graduation date after April 1, presumably under the assumption that no weather-related school cancellations would take place after that date.
By state law, high school graduation cannot take place without the school district having 180 days of classes, Carter said.
