South Windsor Town Manager Applauds Council's Budget

Count Town Manager Matt Galligan among those applauding the South Windsor Town Council for passing the $102.9 million budget on Monday evening.

The budget includes $34.8 million for the town operating budget, a number that Galligan said he was happy with.

"I'm satisfied in that the Council made a commitment to keep the town side intact as well," Galligan said.

Galligan was concerned that because the schools' budget was approved before the town's, then the town could suffer extensive cuts.

Galligan also said the council laid the groundwork for a healthy financial future by addressing capital projects, fund balance and pension payments.

"The bottom line is (the process) worked very well," Galligan said.
