South Windsor Woman Charged In Wrong-Way DUI Crash, Police Say

Police said a South Windsor woman was arrested on a warrant after investigators determined she was driving the wrong way while intoxicated.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A South Windsor woman was taken into custody this week on a warrant tied to a wrong-way crash investigation from December, police said.

South Windsor police said Lisa Halpin, 54, turned herself in at police headquarters on Tuesday in connection with a motor vehicle accident near John Fitch Boulevard and Governor’s Highway.

According to police, the investigation found Halpin had been driving north in the southbound lanes of John Fitch Boulevard at the time of the crash. Police said she later admitted she had consumed too much alcohol.

An arrest warrant was obtained, and Halpin surrendered to police on Tuesday afternoon, according to the department. She was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Halpin is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 2, police said.
