Storm Drops Penny-Size Hail In South Windsor

A severe storm brought heavy lightning, rain and hail to South Windsor early Tuesday evening.

Chief of Police Matthew Reed said that the storm began around 5:45 p.m. and at two points dropped penny-size hail.

Despite the severe nature of the storm, there were no reports of injuries or property damage, Reed said.

The storm passed through to the south within an hour.

"As quick as it came, it left," Reed said.
