Warehouse Fire In South Windsor Knocked Down

A warehouse loft on McGuire Road in South Windsor caught fire late Wednesday evening.

Firefighters from South Windsor and East Hartford responded to the blaze, which burned through one of the warehouse's lofts, according to South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kevin Cooney.

The call came in around 11:45 p.m. and it took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock down the blaze,

Cooney said. There was extensive overhaul needed, however, Cooney said.

Lightning may have struck the warehouse's metal roof during a heavy storm that swept through the area Wednesday night.
