Why are you seeking this office?
Teaching has been my life’s work for almost 30 years. Throughout my career, I have been a passionate advocate for students, teachers, and the foundational principles of public education. I want to ensure that our schools remain places where every child/teacher are seen, supported.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Smaller towns have limited tax bases, making it more difficult to fund programs, the latest technology, and staff salaries competitively. I would advocate for fair state funding, explore grants, strengthen partnerships with local businesses and community organizations, and ensure transparent budgeting. I would also support competitive pay/benefits, invest in professional development, and foster a positive school culture that makes teachers feel valued.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Throughout my career, I’ve taught at the middle school and high school levels, in both urban and suburban education and in traditional and technical school settings, but one thing has always remained true: I’ve never shied away from standing up for what’s right in education. Whether it was for equitable access, high standards, or protecting the integrity of the classroom, I’ve always been a fighter for our students and for the values that shape great schools.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Strategic Planning, Community Partnerships and I believe in building strong relationships with parents, educators, and fellow board members—because respectful dialogue leads to stronger decisions.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have been a leader throughout my career and as a public school parent and community member. I have served on various instructional and school leadership teams as well as various PTO positions and community advisory boards; as well as being a Civics and Government teacher.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Love many, trust you and always paddle your own canoe.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I’m not afraid to ask tough questions, challenge the status quo, and advocate boldly for policies that serve students, families, and the future of public education.
