Why are you seeking this office?
I am a strong advocate for education and wish to continue to provide Willington students with a rigorous and engaging curriculum that increases achievement for all students. I wish to maintain a fiscally responsible budget that provides equitable funding for all students and educators despite the rising costs of special education needs in our district. Finally I wish to support a school building project that will address the issues of our aging facilities while reducing operational and maintenance in the long-term.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is the rising cost of taxes in our community. I will address this issue by supporting transparency during the budget process and working to build a fiscally responsible budget that provides equitable funding for all students and educators despite the rising costs of special education needs in our district.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am a lifelong educator so I bring experience and knowledge of best practices in education to the table at each meeting. I have served on the Willington Board of Education for the past 8 years, so I am familiar with the history of the schools, policies and procedures. My decisions are based on what is best for the students of Willington.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I intend to address the issues of communication, and community involvement to guide decision making and policy.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My accomplishments include the planning, writing, approving and publishing of new curricula in English Language Arts, Math, Phonics and Science. As well as the addition of mental health professionals to support our children to be successful. During my two terms, we have maintained small class sizes, current programs and staffing.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
The best advice anyone ever gave me was "If it is meant to be, it is up to me!"
