Deer, Abandoned Car, Lead To Crash In Willington: State Police
A deer caused a dangerous series of events on a stretch of highway in Willington, state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT — An accident report released by state police shows a deer started a strange and dangerous chain reaction crash on Interstate 84 in Willington.
The incident occurred at 29 minutes after midnight on Nov. 23.
According to a crash report, a 2012 Toyota Camry with a 32-year-old Thomaston man driving was heading west on I-84 in the center lane, about a half-mile before the Exit 70 interchange. A deer then entered the highway and the Camry hit it so hard that the airbag deployed, according to a crash report.

The now-disabled car had veered over to the right lane during the crash and the driver left it for the safety of the shoulder, according to a crash report.
Along came a 63-year-old man from Mount Vernon, NY, in a Volvo truck, state police said. The Volvo's driver didn't see, then hit the open door of the Camry, according to a crash report.

The driver of the Camry was eventually taken to Rockville General Hospital as a precaution, according to a crash report.
