Driver 'Speeds Up' To Prevent Lane Change, Causes Crash On I-84: Cops
A driver jostling for position was to blame for a crash in northeast Connecticut, state police said.

UNION, CT — A driver sped up to prevent another driver from changing lanes in front of him and the jostling causes a crash on an extreme eastern stretch of Interstate 84, state police said.
The two drivers involved were a 32-year-old Long Island man in a Chevrolet Equinox and a a 60-year-old Fitchburg, MA, man in a tractor-trailer, according to a crash report.
The crash took place at 10:33 a.m. last Thursday near Exit 73 in Union. According to a crash report, the truck was in the right lane on I-84 and began to change lanes. The Equinox driver, who was in the center lane, then sped up in an effort to prevent the merge and the vehicles collided, according to a crash report.

The truck was not hurt, but the driver of the Equinox was transported to Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, MA, with a minor injury, according to a crash report.
