A drunken driver drove himself right to state police, an arrest report shows.

UNION, CT — An erratic driver later determined to be drunk was arrested after he wandered right into the arms of state police in northern Connecticut, an arrest report shows.
The incident took place on June 23. According to an arrest report released this week, at 3:30 p.m. that day, state police received multiple 911 calls about a red Toyota Tundra being driven erratically on the westbound side of Interstate 91 in Union.
The vehicle then exited the highway at the Department of Transportation commercial vehicle scales and inspection checkpoint, where a state trooper was looking over a vehicle, according to an arrest report.

A state trooper was able to get the Tundra stopped and detain the driver, a 58-year-old Enfield man. The driver was then "cleared medically," before failing sobriety tests, state police said. His license had been suspended and he had no insurance, according to an arrest report.
He is due in Rockville Superior Court on July 8 to face a driving under the influence charge and the motor vehicle violations, state police said.
