STAFFORD, CT — A driver said she fouled up while wiping her nose right before her vehicle slammed into a utility pole in Stafford last week, according to state police.

A report on the April 9 incident was available this week.

According to a crash report, at 7:06 a.m. that day, a 2014 GMC terrain with a 56-year-old Stafford woman behind the wheel was heading south on New City Road, about a tenth-of-a-mile before the Burley Hill Road intersection. The sport utility vehicle suddenly left the pavement and hit a utility pole, according to a crash report.

After the accident, the driver told state police she went to wipe her nose and then lost control of the car, according to a crash report.

The driver sustained a minor injury, according to a crash report. The SUV was towed from the scene, state police said.
