WILLINGTON, CT — A recent state police "aggressive driving" detail did just what it was designed to to — catch an aggressive driver.

The detail was set up on Interstate 84 on the night of April 8. At 9:26 p.m., with state police positioned in Willington near Exit 71 on the westbound side of the highway, a 2016 Cadillac Srx was caught on a laser unit going 103 mph.

The Cadillac was stopped and the driver, a 223-year-old New Haven man, said he l;ost track of how fast he was going. Nevertheless, state police charged him with reckless driving at greater than 85 mph, according to an arrest report.
