Truck Debris Causes Highway Havoc 2 Times In 1 Day In North Centra Connecticut
Trucks are being faulted for two incidents on I-84, state police said.

NORTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT — Truck debris caused havoc twice in one day on Interstate 84 last week, state police reports show..
According to a crash report, at 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 20, a 2024 Kia EV6 with a 37-year-old Charlton, MA, man driving, was headed east in I-84 in the left-hand lane. A tractor-trailer was in the center lane and sustained a tire blowout, according to a crash report.
The driver of the Kia swerved left to avoid the truck and tire and veered into a metal guardrail in the center median, according to a crash report.

No one was hurt, state police said.
Later that day, just before 7 p.m., a 2025 Acura Mdx with a 56-year-old Vernon man behind the wheel was traveling in the right lane, heading east near Exit 65, according to a crash report. A piece of debris then came flying from a pickup truck and smashed into the Acura, according to a crash report.

No one was hurt and the driver of the pickup was cited for traveling with an unsecured load, state police said.
