WILLINGTON, CT — A driver's excuse for traveling at a 115-mph clip on Interstate 84 in Willington?

He was in a hurry.

That was the word from a state police arrest report.

According to that report, at 4:04 p.m. on May 14, the 31-year-old from South Windsor was driving a 2022 Lexus IS 350 on the westbound side of the highway and passed a state police speed enforcement detail near Exit 71.

A trooper then registered his speed at 115 mph on a laser unit, according to the arrest report.

After being pulled over, the driver told troopers he was in a "hurry" while heading home from work, according to the arrest report.

He was charged with reckless driving, records show.
