Willington Offering New Free Library Alerts

WILLINGTON, CT — The Willington Public library is presenting a new alert system.

The Willington Public Library is excited to offer its patrons free "Wowbrary" email alerts that showcase the library's newest items each week. Through the generous support of an anonymous donor to Wowbrary directly, Willington Public Library now provides these services to all our patrons. The alerts feature the latest bestsellers, movies, music CDs, audio books, children's titles, cookbooks, mysteries, travel guides, health books, science fiction and more purchased by the library in both physical and digital formats.

"This is a great new way to enjoy and use your public library more," says Steve Osier, Director of the Willington Public Library. "People are delighted when they see in one place just how many great new titles we purchase each week, which they can reserve and borrow at no cost. And we cover all age groups and many diverse interests."

Steve Osier notes that the new Wowbrary alerts are extremely convenient and quickly show what's new, whether checked out or not, for all Willington Public Library branches, all from the convenience of one's home, work, or school computer. Eventually it will expand to weekly social media posts on the Library's Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The alerts also help those interested in just specific topics for all ages. It only takes a mouse click to see the newest arrivals for children, young adults, and adults and by genre. There's a separate section on parenting for adult patrons with children. And teachers can quickly spot new resources for their classes as well.

Additionally, you can at no cost help Willington Public Library whenever you shop at Amazon, simply by accessing Amazon by visiting https://wowbrary.org/willington and then clicking on Wowbrary's 'Shop at Amazon' button. The library shares with Wowbrary a portion of the commission from patron purchases when they start from that Wowbrary webpage.
