STAFFORD, CT — A wrong-way driver has been arrested for drunken driving in Stafford, state police said.

According to an arrest report, at 1:49 p.m. Sunday, state police received calls about a vehicle sitting on the shoulder, facing the wrong direction on Barbara Lane.

When they arrived, troopers found a 60-year-old Stafford man slumped over the steering wheel with the engine running, according to an arrest report.

Troopers woke the man up and he failed sobriety tests, resulting in a driving under the influence charge, according to an arrest report.

The man is due in court on Feb. 5, records show.
