STAMFORD, CT — Four kittens were rescued from a precarious situation this week in Stamford, according to police.

The Stamford Police Department posted Wednesday on Facebook that an Eversource electric crew found four very young kittens in a small, high voltage fenced area off Fairfield Avenue.

Eversource was able to de-energize the fenced area and the kittens were removed, police said, calling the rescue "a collaborative effort."

The SPD's Animal Control Division responded and took the kittens to the shelter to be evaluated for adoption.

In the comments underneath the SPD's social media post, the department said the mother of the kittens was not located in the area, but officers would be checking back to see if they can find her.

"All kittens were in good health and rumor has it that one of the kittens will be named 'Bolt,'" the SPD said.
