$50K Powerball Winner Sold In Stamford

A Stamford resident won the big prize, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford resident is now $50,000 richer thanks to some luck and the Connecticut Lottery.

The local resident won the big prize after playing Powerball. The winning ticket was purchased at Springdale Variety, located at 1072 Hope St.

Powerball is a multi-state game. The minimum jackpot is $20 million, and increases for each game will be determined based on sales in the current environment.

The drawing for Powerball on Monday night was estimated to be $1.1 billion after no one scored the $1 billion jackpot on Dec. 13.
