'Bark In The Park' Scheduled For Sunday In Latham Park

Bark In The Park will feature many fun events for your four-legged furry friend. All friendly, well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome.

STAMFORD, CT — Bring your four-legged fury friend out to Bark In The Park on May 22 at Latham Park in Stamford.

All friendly, well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome to this fun event, presented by Dogtopia Stamford and Spot On Veterinary Hospital & Hotel.

Enjoy lots of activities to keep families and pets entertained. Activities include: demonstrations, agility course, fun contests, adoption area, free microchip clinic, photo booth, splash zone, treat bar, pet licensing, blessing of the animals, pet vendors, door prize giveaways and more.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Latham Park on Bedford Street.

  • 12pm: Does your dog have the “Right Stuff” to be a therapy dog? Join Neil Cohen and K9 Caring Angels to explore the opportunities for therapy dog certification.
  • 12:30pm: Blessing of the Animals
  • 1 p.m: Pie Eating Contest
  • 1:15 p.m: Best Trick Contest
  • 1:30 p.m: Costume Contest

The event is free, but cash donations or items to donate to animals in need are encouraged. Items collected will be distributed between the participating rescue groups. Suggested items include: canned food, pill pockets, chew toys, martingale collars, frontline, Heartgard and leashes.
