Recent star of SIX on Broadway (and more) performs January 17 in The Kweskin Theatre
BROADWAY STAR RETURNS FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY CONCERT IN STAMFORD, JANUARY 17
CT native and Curtain Call alum, Brennyn Lark, will return to Curtain Call for a one-night-only concert event on Friday, January 17, at 7:30 pm in The Kweskin Theatre, 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford.
Lark most recently starred as the surviving wife of Henry VIII - Catherine Parr - in the Broadway megahit, SIX. She made her Broadway debut as Eponine in LES MISERABLES.
She had a featured role in season three of the TV series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and made her London West End debut starring as Deena Jones in DREAMGIRLS!
She played Alpha Smith in the pre-Broadway production of the Louis Armstrong musical, A Wonderful World, and has worked with the legendary Stephen Schwartz, playing Tzippotah in the world premiere of The Prince of Egypt.
"Every once in a while a young performer comes through here at Curtain Call who is clearly special and likely destined for a great career in this business - Brennyn is one of them," said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call executive director.
"We were lucky to have her star as Dorothy in our Summer Youth Theatre Production of THE WIZ. William 'Bill' Brown, book writer of THE WIZ, visited our production to chat with the kids and he was truly impressed with her performance," remembered Ursone.
Lark later appeared in Curtain Call's production of DREAMGIRLS and not long after, embarked on her professional journey. Ursone and his wife journeyed to London to see her star turn in DREAMGIRLS. "To say we were beyond verklempt is an understatement...Brennyn was incredible in the role of Deena Jones," Ursone said.
She has made appearances on the Today Show and the Sherri Shepherd Show, as well as singing internationally in Tokyo and performing at the most famous arena - MSG - singing the National Anthem multiple times.
Brennyn continues to share her voice and express herself in any way she can. She is a performance coach, helping students not only refine their skills but remember the truth of who they are! You can listen to Brennyn’s new song “Goddess” available on all music streaming platforms.
This one night only special fund-raising event will feature Broadway classics and Brennyn's favorite pop music hits. All seats for the event are $60 and available online at www.curtaincallinc.com or by calling 203-461-6358.
The Kweskin Theatre is located at the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905. Curtain Call is the award-winning nonprofit theatre company in residence at Sterling Farms since 1992.
