Police: New Yorker Arrested After Stripping Naked, Attacking Car

Stamford police arrested a man after finding his clothes in the middle of the street the night prior and responding to a call the following morning where he lead them on a chase.

Authorities responding to a call at around 9 p.m. Thursday night found a pile of clothing belonging to what they believed was a male who was now nude, they said Friday.

A woman called police after finding a wallet in the street containing the man's identification. The wallet belonged to Fabian Toledo, Jr of Pelham PArkway West in the Bronx, police said.

A search conducted of the area over an hour and a half was fruitless and the man was not found, police said.

However, the following morning, authorities received a call that a man was attacking a taxi cab parked out front of a residence in the 100 block of Connecticut Ave, they said.

Authorities said upon arrival, the victim pointed out a vehicle the suspect got out of as he began attacking the taxi cab, and pointed out a residence the man had since entered.

A run of the vehicle's plates returned the address belonging to Toledo, whose wallet—and, police believe, clothes—were recovered the previous evening, police said.

Police said upon learning authorities were looking for him, the suspect entered his vehicle and fled. He would not immediately pull over for police, but eventually pulled his car over onto the sidewalk a few blocks away, authorities said.

He was arrested and charged reckless endangerment and other related charges. He's currently being held on $10,000 bond.
