Stamford Downtown Unveils Vibrant Sidewalk Art By Local Artist
The installations are part of the Sidewalk Art in Stamford Downtown Placemaking Project.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Downtown has completed a public art project featuring five permanent sidewalk murals by local artist Chancellor Hayes, designed to add color and interaction to the city’s pedestrian spaces.
The installations, part of the Sidewalk Art in Stamford Downtown Placemaking Project, are located at Kiwanis Park (“Smile Here”), the entrance to the Ferguson Library (“What Will You Read Today?”), Columbus Park (“Jump” and “Kiss Here”) and Latham Park (“Playground Club”). Hayes, known on Instagram as @8ballcreates, is recognized for blending bright colors with playful prompts.

"Public art is a powerful tool for placemaking," said Stamford Downtown President Michael Moore in a news release. "These sidewalk installations not only brighten our public spaces but also invite people to interact with their surroundings in creative and uplifting ways. Chancellor’s work brings a sense of wonder and personality to Stamford Downtown, and we’re proud to have partnered with him on this meaningful project."
