Stamford Election 2015 Results: Changes in the Wind

There will be changes with the Board of Education — one long-time incumbent loses.

The Stamford Board of Education will continue to be controlled by city Democrats but the membership will be a group of new faces.

There are five newcomers to the board that has faced numerous challenges over the past year — a sex scandal at Stamford High School that led to the arrests of a teacher, the principal, an assistant principal and the pending retirement of the school superintendent.

Democrat Jennienne Burke and Republican Gerald Bosak Jr., each won a race for two, one-year seats on the board, and Democrat David Mannis and Republicans Mike Altamura and Andy George won the three open three-year seats, according to The Advocate, citing unofficial results.
