Stamford To Expand Popular Downtown Winter Lighting Program

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Downtown announced on Friday the expansion of its popular downtown lighting program with new illuminated locations.
The signature initiative sponsored by the Stamford Downtown Special Services District brightens the holiday season and offers a welcoming glow throughout the cold winter months.
This year’s expansion includes dazzling displays along North State Street between Atlantic Street and Washington Boulevard, and Broad Street in front of UConn Stamford, Target and The Asher.

Stamford Downtown will also install festoon lighting along Clark Street in January.
Stamford Downtown’s lighting program is produced by the Christmas Lighting Company of Pearl River, NY.

Other highlights include:
- Eighty street trees adorned with approximately 1,700 lights each along Bedford, Atlantic, Summer, and Main Streets.
- Special installations at Latham and Kiwanis Parks.
- Multi-color displays on two grand oak trees at the Ferguson Library and Columbus Park, with the Columbus Park oak alone featuring 63,000 lights.
In total, the winter lighting program incorporates nearly 250,000 multi-color and warm-white LED lights, including a striking wall and tree installation of 60 cascading light rods at Kiwanis Park.
By utilizing energy-efficient LED technology, the program significantly reduces energy costs while maintaining its brilliance.
Stamford Downtown invites residents and visitors alike to experience this magnificent lighting display, which will remain on view until mid-March.
