Stamford Fire Department to Host 9/11 Memorial Tuesday Morning
The public is encouraged to attend, meet their firefighters over coffee and share in the conversation.

Tuesday morning brings with it the 11th anniversary of one of our nation's greatest tragedies.
At 9:30 a.m., the at 1620 Washington Boulevard will be holding a ceremony to commemorate the anniversary, an event that affected the entire nation, but most especially this region.

Captain Tom Gloersen urges all members of the public to attend.
"We're encouraging as much public participation as we can get," Gloersen said. "We like seeing people come out and want them to experience the ceremony with us. The more people we can get out to support each other, the more powerful it is."

Gloersen said the public can come just as they are, though in the past people have brought flowers, cards, candles, and an assortment of other items, and Gloersen said that would be permitted and encouraged as well.
