From mastering Spanish, Arabic, and Hebrew to volunteering in theater and faith groups, Alex's drive and kindness truly stand out.

He's my son, but he did something so unusual that his teacher mentioned it in a ceremony.
Tell us about your star student's accomplishments and why they deserve to be recognized on Patch!
Alex has done a lot of volunteering at Curtain Call's Shakespeare on The Green and Summer Youth Theatre. In addition, he helps out at our synagogue when there is a community-wide event. He did a Midnight Run with a church. And -- drum roll, please -- he passed the test of Bi-Literacy in Spanish and has not just a certificate, but a special award he will wear to his graduation. His teacher said he was the only non-Hispanic student in his class to achieve that. He's been studying Spanish now for 6 years. He also taught himself a working knowledge of conversational Arabic and Hebrew.
