Stamford Sets St. Patrick’s Day Parade for March 4

There will be marching units, bagpipe bands, and Irish step dancers, in all about 80 marching units.

From the City of Stamford: 2017 St Patrick’s Day Parade Set for Saturday March 4; Noted Stamford Artist Robert Callahan to be Grand Marshal. WSTC to broadcast the parade live.

The 22st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off at noon on Saturday, March 4, starting at the corner of North and Summer Streets, south on Summer St, east to Atlantic St and north on Bedford St. There will be marching units, bagpipe bands, and Irish step dancers, in all about 80 marching units. A Family Zone, offering fun activities for children, will be located next to the Palace Theatre and open from 11 am until the parade starts. Grand Marshal Bob Callahan will lead the parade.

Mr. Callahan will also be honored at the Grand Marshal Breakfast, from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Sheraton Hotel, 700 East Main Street. There will be a large buffet breakfast, a cash bar and entertainment. The 2016 Grand Marshal, CT Supreme Court Justice Andrew McDonald, will be on hand to turn the traditional sash over the 2017 Grand Marshal.
