Storm Debris Disposal Events To Take Place In Stamford
The city will hold two storm debris drop-off and disposal events for Stamford residents.

STAMFORD, CT — The city will hold two storm debris drop-off and disposal events for residents at Scofield Park following Tropical Storm Isaias' path through Stamford earlier this week. The first disposal event will take place Saturday, while a second event will be held the following week on Aug. 15.
In a statement, city officials said residents can bring "unlimited fallen branches or other storm debris" for free disposal at the park. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"The city of Stamford cannot perform curbside pickup for storm debris due to budget cuts approved by Stamford's Board of Finance and Board of Representatives earlier this year, in response to the economic impact of COVID-19," city officials said in a statement. "Stamford's office of operations does not have the necessary workforce or resources available to perform curbside pickup. Stamford residents are advised: do not place storm debris curbside, it will not be picked up."
The disposal events will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The events are for storm debris only, and city staff have discretion to turn away commercial vehicles or anyone attempting to dispose of unrelated waste.
