Teen Found With Loaded Gun Inside Dunkin' Donuts, Stamford Police Say
The teen attends high school in Stamford, according to police.
STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford teenager was arrested last Friday after police say he was in possession of a loaded gun inside a Dunkin Donuts.
The boy, a 17-year-old who attends a high school in Stamford, was charged with possession of a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer of a firearm and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine, according to police.
Police did not release the name of the boy due to his age.

The Stamford Police Department Narcotics & Organized Crime Squad received information that the boy had a gun inside the Dunkin Donuts on West Broad Street on Dec. 5, Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin told Patch.

Officers conducted a short surveillance a little after 4 p.m. and moved in to make an arrest. The boy was found sitting at a table and in possession of a Springfield Armory XD40 - a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun - with a high-capacity magazine loaded with 11 rounds, as well as a laser sighting device, Conklin said.

The boy was taken to the SPD Youth Bureau and later remanded to the juvenile detention center in Bridgeport. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
"It's a dangerous situation for a 17-year-old to have a loaded handgun in his possession," Conklin said. "So we're very happy to have this arrest from Narcotics & Organized Crime."
