2 Dogs Rescued As Multiple Fire Departments Extinguish House Blaze In Old Mystic

A house fire was reported at an Old Mystic home on Thursday morning, according to fire officials.

OLD MYSTIC, CT — Firefighters extinguished a blaze at an Old Mystic home Thursday morning, according to a Facebook post from the Old Mystic Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 11:05 a.m. on North Stonington Road with a caller saying they could see the fire through the woods.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, and there were no injuries.

No one was home at the time of the fire. Firefighters did rescue two dogs, who were not injured, according to The Day of New London.

The fire was contained to the home's attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation but it may have started in an exterior metal chimney, according to The Day.
