Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I want to make sure our AAA Bond Rating stays in effect. Stonington is only 1 of 5 towns in CT with this high of a rating. I want to make sure our children have the necessary support and tools to receive a first-rate education. I want to make sure our police and fire departments are adequately funded to keep us safe. I will work with other board members to fund our Highway Dept. so it has the resources to properly maintain our infrastructure. I will be a stalwart supporter of our Human Services Dept. to make sure our most vulnerable citizens have the services they need to lead a decent quality of life. I will be sensitive to the needs of our retirees and senior citizens so they can afford to continue to live in our town.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Being able to continue to afford to live in our town. I will work with other board members to keep spending as low as possible.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Some of my competitors feel the same as I do regarding spending. However, some don't.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

I will take a close look at how the taxpayers' money is spent. I am very detailed oriented. I can work with other people of varying opinions and come to a consensus on difficult matters.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

When I was a member of the Police Commission, I along with other commission members and the chief crafted the Police Dept. budget. I was also a member of the Fairview Odd Fellows Board of Trustees whose function was to oversee the handling of the Home's endowment.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Be true to yourself.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am a good listener. I am detail oriented. I will work hard on behalf of the taxpayers of Stonington. I can work with anyone to solve complex problems. I have proven that by my past experience.
