Construction Begins On Major Project In Stonington

The finish line is in sight for a Stonington project that's faced years of delays.

STONINGTON, CT — Following years of delays, construction of Mystic River Boathouse Park is underway on Route 27, according to The Day of New London.

An official said the rowing center, which will be the new home of the Stonington High School rowing team, is anticipated to be ready by early spring.

The project began in 2016 when voters approved $2.2 million in bonding to purchase the land for the 1.5-acre riverfront park.
