Blaze At Foxwoods Casino Steakhouse: Authorities

Firefighters were responding to a blaze Tuesday night at the David Burke Prime steakhouse.

MASHANTUCKET, CT — Firefighters were responding to a blaze Tuesday night at the David Burke Prime steakhouse at Foxwoods Resort Casino, according to several agencies.

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Fire Department referred to the incident as "the situation in Grand Pequot Tower" in an update posted around 10 p.m. on Facebook by the tribal nation, which owns and operates the casino. The steakhouse is located in the tower in the 300 block of Trolley Line Boulevard.

"We are working closely with emergency response teams, and the health and safety of our guests and team members remains our top priority," the update said. "Impacted areas are currently safe and secure from guests. We will share additional information as it becomes available."

Witnesses told WCVB they had been evacuated to a different part of the complex.

The North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company posted on Facebook about the incident around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Ledyard Fire Company, Old Mystic Fire Department and Submarine Base Firefighters Local F-219 also posted on Facebook that they were assisting at the casino with the blaze, which the Old Mystic Fire Department called a "multi-alarm structure fire."

David Burke Prime is a 13,000-square-foot steakhouse that seats 375 people, according to the restaurant's website. It opened in 2008 and has an in-house dry-aging room that uses a patented aging process.
