Hotel Fire Leads To Evacuation In Mystic
The fire was reported in the early morning hours and is under investigation.
OLD MYSTIC, CT — A fire resulted in the evacuation of a hotel in Mystic, according to the Old Mystic Fire Department.
A fire in a guest room was reported at the Spark Hotel at 55 Whitehall Ave. at 2:15 a.m. Monday.
The fire was in a guest room bathroom and the hotel's second floor had been evacuated.

Firefighters found smoke and a small fire in the bathroom's hotel in the ceiling. Hotel staff had previously used a fire extinguisher.
Crews overhauled the area, extinguished any remaining hot spots, and confirmed that the fire had not spread into the attic. They then ventilated the building and measured the air quality.

Once conditions were safe, hotel guests and employees were allowed to return to the unaffected areas of the building.
The fire was contained to the room where it started. No one was injured.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by The Old Mystic Fire Department Fire Marshal’s office.
The Mystic, Poquonnock Bridge, and Subbase fire departments as well as Mystic River Ambulance and Lawrence + Memorial paramedics provided assistance. The Stonington Police Department, Station T dispatchers, and Groton Fire Alarm dispatchers also helped.
