Man Charged In Stonington Armed Bank Robbery: Report

A man was arrested in Rhode Island in connection with the robbery of a Stonington bank on Wednesday, according to a report.

STONINGTON, CT — A man has been charged following an armed bank robbery in Stonington, according to WTNH News-8.

Wilfredo Alarcon, 57, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, was charged with first-degree robbery, commission of a Class S or B felony with a firearm, third-degree larceny, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, criminal possession of a firearm, and first-degree threatening.

Alarcon was arrested in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, WTNH News-8 reported. He was extradited to Connecticut and held on $400,000 bond.

The robbery occurred Wednesday at the Citizens Bank on Broadway Avenue.

An armed man in a mask robbed the bank at 9:41 a.m., police said.
