MYSTIC, CT — The Mystic Outdoor Art Festival has received recognition from Boston Magazine as the best in New England.

For the inaugural New England Travel Awards, the magazine's editors asked readers to nominate their favorite places to stay and play across New England in 20 distinct categories. “Forget gallery hunting for your next 'OMG, where did you find that?' piece of art: One visit to this mega-festival—the oldest juried art show in the Northeast—will yield exactly what you’re seeking. The two-day August event brings some 270 artists from around the country to downtown Mystic, where a mile-long stretch of tents along the scenic Mystic River showcases oil and watercolor paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and textiles."

Bruce Flax, President of The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement: “Over the last 4 years we have made substantial, meaningful changes to the Art Festival including partnering with Mystic Seaport Museum and adding the Performing Arts Stage. Thank you to everyone who voted for Mystic’s signature event, now running for 65 years. It is extremely rewarding for the whole Chamber team to see this recognition from Boston Magazine and the NE Travel Awards,”
