21 Rocks Restaurant is expanding with a new space for events, live music, and more. A grand opening will be this weekend.

MYSTIC, CT — A new event space, bar, and live music venue at Rocks 21 restaurant will hold a grand opening this weekend.

Dubbed Room 245, the newly renovated space includes views of Mystic Harbor and two outdoor patios. A celebration for the space will be held Friday through Sunday. The 3-day event will be "filled with festivities, including food and drink specials and giveaways all weekend," according to a statement.

The new venue is on the ground level of Rocks 21 restaurant at 3 Williams Ave. in Mystic.

The newly opened spot will show NFL football on multiple big screens and has outdoor spaces for drinking and eating. Room 245 will also offer an event space for private parties and celebrations along with "the hottest live music acts and DJs in the region."

The space's name, Room 245, originated during construction when management unearthed hotel rooms from the original Inn at Mystic and found a marker for room "245.”

“We’ve accomplished something very unique here,” Manager Chris Roth said in a statement. “We offer much more than just great dining and a lively bar with water views. We have the best in entertainment and space for celebrations and private parties, all under one roof.”

The three-day event will include a daily drawing for a romantic getaway at the Inn at Mystic and Rocks 21. Friday night is comedy night, and Saturday is Family Fun Day.
