Obituary: Craig Thomas Margiano

Beloved Father, Brother and Uncle

Craig Thomas Margiano, age 60, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Derby on on September 3, 1961, son of the late Dominic Thomas and Diane (Ruwet) Margiano.
Craig attended Derby High School where he was a member of the varsity football team, and won a gold medal in the state wrestling championship tournament for his weight class. He subsequently attended Southern Connecticut State College, and later earned certificates in Project Management through Villanova University. Craig worked diligently and was the proud owner of Calvary Remodeling in Mystic, CT, and was a very involved member of the Calvary Church. He generously volunteered his time and resources in support of Ahava House in Groton, and various other shelters and charitable organizations. In his personal time, Craig enjoyed gathering with family and friends, quiet moments in the outdoors and kayaking on the ocean, listening to music and learning to play the keyboard and guitar, spending time with his many pets over the years, and was also a longtime fitness enthusiast.
Craig is the beloved father of Ashley Margiano, 31, of Old Lyme CT. He is also survived by his brother, Scott A. Margiano and his wife Carol of Shelton CT, sister Dina S. (Margiano) Gotowala of Shelton CT, sister Suzanne G. Margiano and her husband Ronald Dunham of West Boylston MA, nieces and nephews Jennifer Ryan, Joseph Park III, Sarah Gravel, Leigh Doebrick, and Scott Margiano, Jr., as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby CT, on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will begin in the parlor at 12:00 p.m., followed by Christian burial at Mount Saint Peters Cemetery in Derby, CT.
