Shoreline East Train Schedule Adjustment To Affect Stonington
The schedule was adjusted Monday, and the new service will support the Penn Station Access Project.

STONINGTON, CT — Shore Line East adjusted its hours starting Monday and riders should expect a more routine schedule. The new service will support the Penn Station Access project, which is intended to eventually connect Metro-North trains to the Hell Gate Line.
The move would allow trains to get to the west side of Manhattan directly into Penn Station.
“Groton, Mystic, and Stonington rail commuters are craving a more predictable schedule, faster travel, and greater access to cities to our west from New Haven to New York City,” Rep. Aundré Bumgardner (D-Groton, Stonington) said in a statement. “These adjustments move us in the right direction as we seek expanded, more frequent service on Shore Line East.”
The schedule adjustment will also allow crews with the Connecticut Department of Transportation to get back to work on construction service adjustments after the switch replacement project in Old Saybrook was completed. That project brings the tracks back to a state of good repair, according to the statement.
Shore Line East trains with schedule adjustments of 15 minutes or more include:
