STONINGTON, CT — A motor vehicle accident involving a telephone pole early Friday morning is resulting in traffic issues in Stonington.

The town posted the following on Facebook around 6 a.m.:

"Due to a motor vehicle accident earlier this morning involving a utility pole the area of Route 1 and Robin St is currently alternating one way traffic. This intersection is just west of the High School. Based on the volume of traffic this stretch of Route 1 sees in the morning there will be significant delays so please plan accordingly. If possible avoid the area all together."
