The victim told police he was on his way home from Groton and was behind a black SUV going eastbound on Route 184. The victim said while he was behind the SUV, it slowed down and "brake checked" him multiple times before coming to an almost complete stop.
The victim then passed the SUV, which then approached him from the rear at a high speed, following him closely while flashing its high beams.

The victim arrived at his destination with the SUV following. He exited his vehicle and a woman left the SUV's passenger side with what the victim believed was a gun in her hand.
The woman began yelling at the victim, claiming he tried to run their car off the road, according to state police.
Then a man got out of the driver's side of the SUV and tackled the victim to the ground. The victim said he then was able to take the gun from the woman and hit the man with it.
The SUV pair then struck the victim in the face and head, police said. When he tried to use his cell phone to call 911, both the woman and man grabbed his phone.
The pair then returned to the SUV and left. The magazine to the gun was left with the victim, and troopers said it was a magazine for a BB gun.
