Stonington Selectmen Emergency Meeting Deemed Illegal

The meeting in question was held to vote on the Crescent Club Condominium project in Pawcatuck.

The state's Freedom of  Information Commission has reprimanded the Stonington Board of Selectmen for holding an illegal emergency meeting on Dec. 3, 2012, The Day reports.

The selectmen voted in support of Crescent Club Condominium open space plans at the meeting, according to The Day.

The FOI commission chose not to reverse the condominium vote since "the respondents did not act in bad faith to avoid the notice requirements of the FOI Act," the Day article said.
