Route 15 Reopens After Serious Crash In Stratford: UPDATE

STRATFORD, CT — A wrong-way crash on the Merritt Parkway in Stratford around 1:45 a.m. has led to serious injuries and at least one fatality, according to media reports.

WFSB 3 TV reported that the two-vehicle crash that closed the parkway between exits 53 and 52 on the southbound side of the highway was a wrong-way crash. WTNH News 8 reports that at least one person was killed in the 2-vehicle crash.

The Stratford Fire Union posted "Major incident on the Merritt Parkway southbound in the area between exits 53/52. Expect extended closure and seek alternate routes."

As of 8:30 a.m. the highway has reopened, but numerous delays remain in Fairfield County.

TRUMBULL - Road Work on RT 15 Northbound between Exits 47 and 49N (2.9 miles) in effect today until 4:00 pm. The right lane is closed. Reported Thursday, May 9 at 9:19 am.

WESTPORT - Road Work on RT 15 Northbound between Exits 42 and 44 in effect today until 4:00 pm. The left lane is closed. Reported Thursday, May 9 at 9:49 am.

TRUMBULL - Road Work on RT 25 Southbound between Exits 9 and 6 (2.5 miles) in effect today until 4:00 pm. The left lane is closed. Reported Thursday, May 9 at 9:59 am.

TRUMBULL - Road Work on RT 25 Southbound between route 111 and Exit 9 in effect today until 4:00 pm. The right lane is closed. Reported Thursday, May 9 at 10:01 am.
